  • Burano is just a beautiful city! Go to discover the colourful facades. For once, we also want this time to make the Museum of lace € 5 entry. It's very cheap it looked quite so hop hop hop! So why 3 stars? For the visit... too short for my taste :/ Yes it's beautiful, yes we can see nice pieces of tissue but is very short! visit completed in just 10 minutes! I thought that there was a sequel, a floor but not nothing :( Little explanation and little stories about the lacemakers. So, visit a store next door to see their work becomes necessary. Not much as a souvenir, a little disappointed on this one here :/ PS: the toilet in the Museum are clean but not very accessible. Another ps: photos and phones are not permitted in the Museum :(damage!

  • As far as I'm concerned, are not very sensitive to this kind of handicrafts, which are now destined to disappear with the passage of time and the departure of the last living of this ancient wisdom keepers Handbook. The Lace Museum, however, is interesasnte in historical perspective because it allows us to retrace the journey made by this task for which a time the island was famous throughout the world.

  • It's small, but as someone who thought they had no interest in lace, I happily spent 90 minutes here. There are effective displays of old and modern lace work, along with items on the politics and representation of lace in other art, along with the building's history as a lace school. There is no commercialism at all - no postcards, no shop - which meant that I took dozens of photos of my favourite piece: a 17th Century altar decoration, telling the story of Jesus in a way that only the makers and a few people allowed close to the altar would have seen at the time. An amazing amount of work must have gone into it.
  • I think you've got to really appreciate lace to get the most out of this museum. It is very small, only worth doing if you've already got a museum pass and you're in Burano. Don't bother making a trip just for this museum
  • Really nice place with exhibition and lace makers working while you watch. English speaking staff enthusiastically explain the intricate lace making process. We'll be back!
  • Nice museum. Descriptions of methods, interviews with the lace makers and beautiful examples.
  • Small but informative. Some exquisite lacing work on display. Show at the end to give the island some context. Photogtaphy is allowed inside but not much to take photos of
