The small Venetian Isola di Burano is famous for its elaborate laceworks. You can browse several traditional lace shops and even the lace museum. Stroll among the reds, orange, blue, and green houses and buildings to Galuppi Square, the center of the island. Visit the Church of San Martino, which has its own leaning tower, as well as Giambattista Tiepolo's 18th-century painting of the crucifixion. Stop at one of the pastry stores to try the typical Burano cookie, bussolà buranello. At the waterfront, watch fishermen haul in their catch. Isola di Burano is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Burano Edition.

  • I saw her in the rain: it's still very charming. Is a fishing village, full of colorful houses and streets including getting lost. There are many restaurants and shops offering beautiful handicrafts. You can get there from Venice with regular ferries. The move does not require much time and allows almost all day. Advice on integrated ticket to visit Murano and Torcello.
