  • Already the castle itself is worth a visit. Inside you can get lost in different rooms, which house the history of the peoples of the mountains. Varatteristiche reconstructions of dwellings of nomadic and very explanatory. A visit requires a few hours of your time but is well worth it. Pity the opening at noon.

  • Actually, we wanted to bridge just a rainy day and had no particular expectation. After the visit, we were almost glad it rained. Otherwise, we would have missed this highlight. The exhibition is refreshingly different, even if you sometimes lose track of mountain people comes the exhibit before a. You can incidentally easily commit the bulk of the exhibition with the stroller. Lift available. But not only the exhibition is well worth the visit. Is at least as impressive as the Museum in the castle is built, and modern architectural elements with the historic buildings are in harmony. Mutatis mutandis, the Museum says that the culture of the mountain peoples can be not simply to preserve. Rather, one should have to find a way how this culture can coexist with the modern world. For me, the castle in the figurative sense is a successful example.

  • If you like mountain cultures you must spend a couple if hours in this amazing museum located in a well restored castle.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my visit - you can easily spend several hours here. The castle itself is interesting, and it's nice to see both the very old original walls, and some well-fitting modern restorations / embellishments. It's a pretty walk up to it from the town centre. The exhibition in this museum (out of a total of 6 Messner mountain museums) is focussed on mountain people, so there are lots of artefacts showcasing the culture and way of life of such populations from all over the world. Genuinely new and educational to me. The castle also has a great little cafe / restaurant. The visit price of 9 Euros is well worth it, and if you are in the region for a while, the 35 Euro ticket for all museums, valid for a year, is brilliant value too.
  • Very good exposition, a bit boring near the end.
  • very interesting museum
  • Great!
