  • Well preserved structure with inside one of the Messner mountain museums dedicated to world mountain people. Price of admission a bit pricey, but with possibility combined ticket for families. Breathtaking view from the Tower of the Castle. Worth a visit

  • Heading towards Bruneck, already dominant in the distance, the magnificent and imposing Archbishop's Castle appears; built in the years between 1251 and 1288 in order to protect its possessions in the Pustertal Valley by Bishop Bruno von Kirchberg, which at the same time also began the construction of several houses at the foot of the Castle thus laying the foundation stone for the Foundation of the city of Bruneck. Located on a hill just above the city, easily accessible the Castle welcomes us through the main entrance formerly only accessible through a drawbridge, surmounted by a Gothic portal dating from 1584 enabling us to penetrate into the oldest part. In the inner courtyard and rooms you can admire many coat of arms of bishops that have taken place in this House and frescoes which, unfortunately, are largely faded and not in a good condition. The atmosphere is very particular and evocative. (advisable to visit inside the castle the Museum project "Messner Mountain Museum"

  • Interesting visit to Bruneck Castle within walking distance from the Center. Within a broad review of the ways of life of the inhabitants of the mountains, from Tibet, to Bulgaria, the Alps etc.. Very interesting
