Admire sweeping views of Lake Como from Faro voltiano, a lighthouse dominating a vast valley. Built in 1927, this octagonal tower stands 29 m (95 ft) tall and offers gorgeous panoramas of the surroundings. Named after scientist Alessandro Volta, who lived in Brunate for a while, the lighthouse has a spiral staircase with 143 steps leading to the top. Illuminating Como at night, its light can be seen from up to 50 km (31 mi) away. A visit to Faro voltiano represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Brunate day trip planning website to plot your vacation.

Faro voltiano Reviews
Très belle vue sur le lac des deux côtés de la colline. Mais il faut faire 45 minutes de marche, avec un certain effort lie au dénivelé, mais cela vaut le coup. 2€ la montée des 148 marchés du phare more »Very nice view of the Lake from both sides of the Hill. But to do 45 minutes walk, with a certain effort binds to the elevation, but worth the money. €2 the 148 steps of the lighthouse

The lighthouse erected in memory of the scientist Alessandro Volta is in position I would say ... super overview. A nice balcony, the Hill of three crosses, allows a great view without climbing the steps leading to the top of the lighthouse 143 approximately 900 meters above sea level. You can see Milan, Turin and much more! The beacon emanating, intermittently, the color of our flag and light, this light is visible at about 50 km away. The climb costs €2 for adults, €1. Well spent ... especially on a clear day.

Not suitable for those who suffer from Vertigo because of the tight space and the few protections that we are on (not closed but everything open, there's the railing).
What a fantastic spot in Como! Don't miss this place when you're in Como. I have some suggestions - 1. Wear a pair of comfort shoes. As you may take a long walk up to 3km from the starting point Brunate Station. 2. Bring some food and water as you can. So you may enjoy the breathtaking view and your food! How amazing :)
Great view. I recommend carrying water, food and wearing your trekking shoes. The path is a little tough for older people.
This place has stunning views but... what a trek up the hill! We thought it was going to be an easy place to reach but it took us almost an hour to reach the top of mountain. If you are fit enough to get to the top, you will definitely love this spot. We were lucky to have a clear day so the view of the lake and mountains was incredible.
The view is amazing. You can have a tour here from funiculare. Bring water and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Fantastic spot with a great 180 degree view. Difinitely worth a visit if you are in Como. Possible to take the cabel-car to Brunate, if you don't want to walk the whole way from Como.
