  • If you are a visitor from Certosa di Pavia or one of the many Italian monasteries still in operation, you may feel a pizzixo disappointed. Here the Abbey is little more than a ruin, it lacks even the Church. What remains is still fairly valued and preserved. Congratulations to Cpmune who keep the site almost always open and making it free and open access. A series of well-placed panels take visitors and illustrate the site from historical and architectural point of view. If you pass by here is worth a visit.

  • A journey of culture and gastronomy, a visit to the Abbey of San Pietro for bonding with the Abbey of Novalesa, to reconstruct the pathways of the Benedictines in Piedmont and also of the olivetans. You enter for free, access is free and there are also public buildings such as the Town Hall, the school for children and a country club, and salt used as social and cultural events. That nice note, although at that time there was none, which take place around a work of such social activities and cultural and historical value. We visited accendendoci the light every environment, perfectly maintained and restored, the crypt sec. X, Peter's Abbey secc. X-XV, kitchen of Friars sec. XVI, Refectory and Icehouse secc. XVI. We walked around the Abbey a path that blends with the picturesque view of the plain, with the backdrop of the snowcapped Alps ... and slight November evening air, giving the complex medieval magic.

  • The original Abbey remains only the small brick, marble crypt and river pebbles which is really impressive. Those who appreciate Romanesque architecture-and maybe already in Lomellina to visit Lomello, Sartirana or Vigevano-take the opportunity for a little detour. An hour well spent!

  • The current municipality of Breme was the entrance to the monastery. The entire complex, identified as SAINT PETER'S ABBEY is well worth ' seeing. In the middle ages this abbey was one of the three most important of the Empire. Doubtless Breme is one of the most interesting countries of lower lomellina. The cloister is preserved and charming is the crypt and the kitchen of the friars open during the opening hours of the municipal offices or during special occasions such as the third/fourth Sunday in June, when red onion Festival is held annually in Breme, a treat that you can only find here.
