Stretch your legs with a brisk hike around Lake Prags, the so-called "Pearl of the Dolomites." This picturesque lake is known for its emerald color and a series of hiking trails leading around the water and through the surrounding nature reserve. The lake is located in the heart of a World Heritage Site that has long been a tourist mecca, attracting skiers in the winter months, and mountain climbers, hikers, base jumpers, and paragliders during the summer and early autumn. As you hike or take part in any of the more extreme activities popular in this area, take long breaks to enjoy the sweeping views of the surrounding snow-capped Dolomite mountains. Put Lake Prags and other Braies attractions into our Braies trip itinerary builder, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • We were at the Lake during October and although it was cold, this wonderful place could still capture us. Located in the middle of the mountains reflected in the water this is great at any time of year. You can also follow the trail around the Lake in about an hour and a half.
