Lago di Bracciano, Bracciano
(4.2/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Formed through thousands of years of volcanic activity, Lago di Bracciano is now a drinking water reservoir, and therefore one of the cleanest lakes in Italy. Go for a refreshing swim in the sparkling blue water, stroll along the edge, or take a relaxing boat ride. For views of the lake and surrounding hills, trek up to the castle in Bracciano. If you wish to tour the whole lake, bikes are available for rent. Summer visitors may camp in many places around the lake. • Relaxing and peaceful. The perfect place for relaxing walks in midseason. Very quiet even for sunbathing in summer

  • We loved it, but we had to choose well the restaurant where to eat on the edge of the Lake. Shuttle pedalos at good prices. The waters are clean.

  • Lake Bracciano is a huge volcanic basin. Is located a few kilometers from Rome and is open to visitors from more countries including Bracciano (which gives its name to the Lake), Trevignano and Anguillara. Especially the scenery from the second country cited, surely an unforgettable sight for those who love the old villages. Clean water is the pride of place, you can almost mirror, but well equipped beaches are fantastic and the possibility of renting boats and pedal boats to turn the vast basin. Not to be missed.
