Stelvio Pass, Bormio

4.7
Travel Stelvio Pass with your bicycle, motorcycle, or car. This busy alpine pass is the highest in Italy. It offers a challenging drive. Take a break at one of the eateries along the road so you can safely take in the view. Cyclists should be aware that the ride up is steep, and the way down presents a rather severe wind-chill in some places. • We stayed at this beautiful step with our bike for 1 time. Beautiful experience in a magical place with its 48 hairpin bends that make it unique. Too bad the heavy traffic that prevented to drive a little more fluid, especially in turns. I really recommend it to all the bikers to do so at least 1 time.

  • Passo Stelvio, probably can be described as one of the most stunning places if not peace, then Europe for sure. The pass is not for the faint of heart and not for those rocks. But once you got there-impressions guaranteed! Been there twice, and I am sure we will be back again and again-in the soul falls so that doesn't let go!

  • It was a few years since I was ... ... beautiful landscapes. Fortunately it wasn't raining and we had lunch.

  • Stunning views! its a bit of a "must do" for lots of motorcyclists (and cyclists!) but is actually very busy and very hard work! - everyone wants the same piece of road on every single one of those hairpins! They say to avoid 12noon - 2pm as everyone wants to have lunch at the top - but it was still very busy even at 3:30pm. I suspect you have to get up very early to have the road to yourself! - it has to be done, but probably only once!
  • This a cyclist paradise, challenging climb but with proper training and gearing you will totally enjoy it, If your lucky enough to be there on a clear day the views are spectacular, should be on every cyclist bucket list, totally loved it and I think you will too.
  • Good road but there are far better ones in both Austria and Switzerland. Also, its crowded with cyclists taking up as much space as possible, not to mention other drivers, ranging from mopeds to buses. Recommend to go there on a weekday, and at sunrise for a good driving experience.
  • Cool spot and amazing road but the hotels are very basic, there's very little restaurants/entertainment outside of downhill skiing and there's not a lot to see other than the road.
  • Amazing place. The view is mesmerizing. :)
