Gavia Pass, Bormio

Categories: Historic Walking Areas, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web
High up in the Italian Alps lies Gavia Pass, the mountain range's tenth-highest paved road. This steep and challenging road is not for everyone, but adventure-seekers are rewarded with dramatic views of the Sondrio and Brescia regions. Because the road is quite narrow, it is best tackled by motorbike or bicycle. At an average incline of 16%, count on a hard and long climb. At the summit, reward yourself at the restaurant and take in the vast views. Put Gavia Pass into our Bormio vacation planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Bormio.

  • Will not be harsh and hard as the Stelvio, Gavia paradisiacal views but also, in some ways in my opinion above. In my opinion for motorcyclists and cyclists, who already are struggling to live with each other, it is absolutely dangerous to go there on weekends. I've been there on a Monday and already a minivan or, worse, a camper, were insufficient to do CAP and create columns. I don't want to imagine what would be addressing the steps the day before: observing the multitude of means that popping out downstream would be impossible and I think absolutely not fun and scenic as it was on Monday, would spend all the energy in the Guide without ever looking up from the street to enjoy the scenery. Certain that after getting used to the roads of the Dolomites the difference, albeit minimal, you notice.
