Gavia Pass, Bormio
(4.6/5 based on 440+ reviews on the web)
High up in the Italian Alps lies Gavia Pass, the mountain range's tenth-highest paved road. This steep and challenging road is not for everyone, but adventure-seekers are rewarded with dramatic views of the Sondrio and Brescia regions. Because the road is quite narrow, it is best tackled by motorbike or bicycle. At an average incline of 16%, count on a hard and long climb. At the summit, reward yourself at the restaurant and take in the vast views. Put Gavia Pass into our Bormio vacation planner to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Bormio.

  • This pass is less difficult than the Stelvio, but some ramps over 10%. Too bad that pavements are not all in good condition.

  • Mountain lovers be sure to make a trip to the Gavia pass, is one of Europe's highest Alpine passes, at the top you will find this pond, white pond called the clarity of its water, also from the pass we see the Ortles and Adamello and at the top there is a rest for refreshment and rest.
