Arte Sella, Borgo Valsugana

(4.6/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web)
Arte Sella: the contemporay mountain.

Arte Sella is an international outdoor exhibition of contemporary art set up in 1986 in the fields and woods of the Sella Valley (Val di Sella, municipality of Borgo Valsugana, province of Trento).

Arte Sella is both a qualified exhibition of artistic works and, most importantly, an ongoing creative process in which art works can be actually followed as they grow and evolve. The artists are called upon to express a respectful relationship with nature and treat it as a source of inspiration.

The works are usually three-dimensional and created using stones, leaves, branches and tree trunks. Man-made objects, materials and colours are rarely used. All works are placed outdoor and can be admired while enjoying the different types of woods, stones and monumental trees in the surroundings, the artworks are left to decay thus becoming again part of nature's life cycle.

  • Arte Sella is a really nice experience, you have to live it as a triumphal progress solo and flush out the artworks, perfectly integrated in the landscape without being invasive. The downside is that it would be nice to have an explanation next to the works so you can relive through the eyes of the artist. It wouldn't hurt to even an audio path. For the rest easily accessible and plentiful parking.

  • For rabid dogs seven versts no hook. Went to Trento to visit Arte Sella, but did not take into account one important point for this company need a car. Hoped to be able to station in Borgo Valsugano take a taxi, even have phone numbers of several offices. But arriving from Trento to Borgo train and taxi obzvoniv, realized that the taxi I don't leave. It was necessary to agree beforehand. And then I saw a sign on a Pole on which were depicted pilgrims and pointer Arte Sella, and I decided to go on foot. I was three or four hours, the attempt did not dare stop. Found the cyclists watched me with surprise. The road is quiet, very beautiful and rich flora and fauna rich, fortunately, was not. The park itself is startling. Nature plus sculptures. Best of all, it's in a forest, but not me it was scary out there wandering. Highly recommend this park, but go on car:). And yet there's a wonderful Café at the entrance. Apple juice in Trento is something.

  • Beautiful place, with many original artworks in the open nature. Well worth a visit.
  • The idea to do art out of natural materials is great. The way of displaying it and integrating in the environment is absolute awesome. It works of art are integrated in wood landscape as it would be a part of the natural habitat. Do not skip a free exhibitionist and spend 2-2,5 hours walking through relaxing trail and looking around for art object "hidden" in your surroundings. Some of them are really obvious to see, others are so naturally placed, that you need good eye to realize an art object and not a natural derivation. The second part of the exhibition is more museum like, where more objects are displayed on the less territory. Never the less it is also worth seeing and walking through and let the art impress you. As the statement I would say if your are into modern art and like walking in the nature - Arte Sella will for sure impress you. But even if not - it is worth visiting.
  • Amazing open air art museum on the mountain, do not miss
  • Bellissima escursione nel bosco con tante installazioni
  • AMAZING... a must see.
