  • I visited the castle with my family. I don't recommend the visit to those with small children: parking (surcharge, € 3) is up to 10-15 min walk in the Woods. The exhibition halls of the Museum are many stairs. The scenery is gorgeous, the collections are very messy and just commented. Switching from Asian religious artifacts (Tibet, Nepal.) memorabilia of mythical climbs seamlessly. The price of the tour is the middle ... € 10 for an adult is not so much but I think you could get more, maybe some description about what to see

  • Positive aspects that justify 10 euro ticket: the castle is gorgeous, beautiful and evocative glass-and-steel restructuring of Alpine heights (unsuited to the elderly and small children and completely inaccessible to the disabled, but pay the same eight euros!), the courtyard restaurant is enjoyable, the scenery is breathtaking. Pity that the exhibition of the Museum is inconsistent, unprofessional, poorly commented, messy. Gives the impression that Messner has emptied his cellar full of memorabilia of his exploits and gifts of friends alpinists who have spilled everything here and there who would like to be synthetic and evocative captions sticking, but are insufficient and sometimes incomprehensible (which is written in small font and hung on as far away as possible from our poor eyes). The experience was disappointing and frustrating, the impression is of a job done with conceit by one hand inexperienced. This museum is not "suggestive", is simply poorly managed.

  • Very interesting museum, the core facility of the Messner Mountain Museums. Presents clearly the passion and the development of mountain climbing. Shows also the strong relationship between religion and mountains, a bit strongly focused on the 'foreign' perspective, including budism. The local relations between humans and mountains could be emphasised a bit stronger. Nevertheless a very fascinating, experience based museum. The concept of the museum delivers more an overall impression and emotional approach to the topic of mountain climbing rather than deep information about each aspect. Also don't expect detailed information about the expeditions of Messner. The local restaurant offers delicious food. The signage for orientation could be a bit more clearly. The castle itself offers different, great views into the countryside. Strong recommendation to visitors: take the audio guide, it worth the extra money.
  • This year we visited this castle, it was beautifull!
  • Awesome museum. Beautiful view of Bolzano and surrounding mountains. Great place to bring the kids. Five stars!
  • Marvellous
  • -negative dissappointing Mountain Museum, sorry he put his face to Messner! -high ticket costs-not accessible at carrozzalle, not only that but an infinite number of steps! not even accessible to older persons-use of materials (iron and glass) completely unrelated to the mountain; Maybe designers could use more wood-lack of signage CLEARLY VISIBLE path to do many objects practically hidden,-poor signage and many explanations in German only-all along the way there was none of the staff for explanations, information, possibly be helped (ticket only one woman kind that provided even to the shop!)-very little attention to safety; poorly marked exits (are there?); to exit you have to do the whole course, absurd. With so much money that the province of Bolzano you could make those necessary works to make it a modern Museum?
