  • If you change to Bolsena I recommend to visit this castle ... Inside are often used as an underground Museum and an aquarium. You can visit the towers walking on the perimeter and from there you can enjoy a breathtaking view. The ticket price seems you bypass between 5 and 7 euros.

  • Little castle but well kept the ticket contained in the price within a museum on the territory around the Lake and the history of artifacts found there is also an aquarium down in the basement, you can climb the tower and do the walk around the perimeter superior, I mean a nice diversion which involves half a day especially in good weather, a person at reception courteous and professionally prepared in the territory that exposes content and informs correctly about the beauty of this side of Tuscia and of its suggestive Lake.

  • We visited the castle in the morning of Saturday, February 17. The only cost €5 you can visit:-visit of the two floors of the historical museum with finds from the bronze age to the Roman Empire found on the territory. -visit the towers with lake view-visit the small but fascinating aquarium with specimens of fauna of the Lake and some exotic specimens. To underline the kindness, helpfulness and professionalism of the Lady at the ticket.

  • beautiful town on the lake , castle looks great at night , good small bars near the castle
  • nice view over bolsena, interesting museum!
  • The Foundation of the Castle goes back to 1156 when Pope Adrian IV he reinforced his defence on the Via Cassia erecting the Tower maggiore and fortifying the village below. The remainder of the castle was built starting in 1295 when the town of Orvieto-especially through the Mayor Ermanno Monaldeschi-wanted to consolidate its presence in the area of Lake Bolsena. The fortress took its present form remained virtually unchanged over the centuries then despite attacks, looting, fires, earthquakes and periods of neglect followed by partial repairs. It was only in the twentieth century that the State has acted decisively to save the building from ruin back into a museum the few surviving interiors. Justly famous the views from the battlements.

  • Small castle in the medieval town of Bolsena. From here you can enjoy a nice view of Lake Bolsena in the little hamlet with a few wine shops and a museum. The towers are accessible with the same ticket.
