  • Very nice, not open to all time slots daily. I happened at Christmas time and inside over to religious works, including the Eucharistic Miracle, there was a beautiful crib. I recommend everyone to see this beautiful church!

  • The Basilica di Santa Cristina are actually 3 churches in three epochs and styles. The first left dates from the 4th century hollowed out of the rock, the 1600 while the third right ages around the year 1000. The latter rebuilt the Temple of Apollo has 2 columns of Roman Egyptian red marble. In this basilica are exhibited the relics of the martyr Santa Cristina and you can visit surcharge the catacomb below.

  • Unfortunately a bit remote and a little abandoned. but the Church is worth a visit as it shows many glimpses originals! Antique and cute

  • Church where a Eucharistic miracle took place. Definitely worth a visit.
  • The basilica remain mainly two things: the first is the really complex façade as if three churches had been matched to each other, the second is the "underground" part where the tomb of the Saint, the altar (as amended in the course of centuries) where would the Eucharistic Miracle and early Christian Catacombs. The whole thing is a surprising amount of devotion and art about 1600 years (but it looks like the "cave" of Santa Cristina Etruscan-Roman was already a sacred place). Attention: the entrance to the underground area is subject to charges.

  • I'm from Rome where there is no shortage of churches number talking. But Santa Cristina in Bolsena is special. As you enter you feel welcomed in a haven of peace and we look back in time at every step. The left aisle leads to the Chapel of the miraculous whose altar houses the blood-stained stones, of the Eucharistic Miracle (1263) that millions of pilgrims from around the world come to visit. But even more impressive in my opinion is the adjacent Cave of Santa Cristina, which gives access to the Christian Catacombs. Exposed in this cave is a large stone (transformed into mensa of the altar) that legend has it started to float rather than get to the bottom (during one of the many tortures to which santa was subjected, masterfully recalled during the feast of santa Cristina with beautiful tableaux vivants). The stone carry santa Cristina to the Bank and she descending left (other Prodigy) imprinted the footprints of his feet, which we can still admire. How much mystery and how much history can be felt in this place!
