  • Under guidance of a friend of ours, we were in this place in the first half of August 2016: a surprising DISCOVERY. Great to see that a few steps from the city of Pescara (in about 40 minutes you can arrive at your destination!) is a place to reminisce about the canyon. Arrived in the village, on the left of the little church that meets, there are directions to the cistern. Via paths not quite challenging, you reach the bed of the river and the show begins. Beautiful. We found ourselves in a place surrounded by nature; to reach the cistern you walk in the clear and refreshing waters of Orta and once you arrive you can observe the beauty that only nature can generate. Costume Council and appropriate shoes (at least two pairs--one leave it in the car for the trip). For sure will be back, but in less crowded periods.

  • From the village of Bolognano, with a nice walk (discreetly challenging) you can reach this pond, where the water of the river Orta collects in a natural pool emerald green; otherwise the panoramic one can enjoy the show in all completeness. Here you can find rare animal and plant species. Natural place to discover and preserve, avoiding mass tourism, improper bathrooms as you were at the pool: to preserve the natural environment and the ecosystem of the pool there is no swimming, unfortunately not respected.

  • I want to make the most out of this place! All week this was the day more pleasant: a place I think only. I only say this:-bring the costume-get ready to Wade (knee-deep water),-bring camera and camera the rest I leave it as a surprise ... not even place one of the dozens of photos made in order not to spoil the surprise. It is not to be missed and the name is inappropriate, I would have called "the Emerald lagoon". Someone I think we camp sites (one night stand) and thought you might be one of the best experiences of this world! P.s. don't spread too much the entry otherwise ruin the charm of this place)
