  • Small and somewhat hidden, the Church has a single nave is built on the remains of the Roman Arena where, according to tradition, Diocletian had martyred Saints Vitale e Agricola, whose bodies were recognized by Saint Ambrose in 392 during visit to Bologna. Beautiful crypt which can be accessed right towards the presbytery that, besides being the only remnant of the medieval church, is an architectural masterpiece. The Church was rebuilt in the 16th century is now a bit gloomy and could do with a general restoration. There is also the first chapel on the left is dedicated to our Lady of the angels, where very interesting on the back wall are copying-since stolen in 1972-della Madonna del Divino Amore the famous Sienese painter Sano di Pietro, and the frescoes, left, of the visit of the Virgin in santa Elisabetta di Bartolomeo Ramenghi and, right, of the birth of Jesus attributed to Giacomo France. Well worth a visit!!

  • You'd have to write a lot about this church dedicated to the martyr Saints the Christians as to the fact that the entrance was changed or which has been rebuilt on the foundations even older, but I will just advise you to see the underground Crypt which is particular and mystical atmosphere.

  • The Church was built, destroyed and rebuilt several times, now it has a single nave and some important works but is dimly lit (like most churches). Above the high altar altarpiece martyrdom of Saints Vitale e Agricola completed by a large and important Golden frame with two female figures in contemplation. With a euro lights up the crypt under the Church, just beautiful.

  • Beautiful church with suggestive crypt containing the remains of the martyr Saints Bolognesi Vitale and Agricola

  • Really impressive basilica, with a fantastic crypt. The latter is the oldest place of Bologna, with a two-story shortly. Really a destination not to be missed in this wonderful city.
