  • The lower part of Bergamo is dotted with large and small works celebrating the war effort and the military. Along the Viale Papa Giovanni towards the upper town there are several. The Alpino monument is the first work and is really enormous. It is appreciated more for artistic values civil significance. It is singular to observe it in the context of the melting pot of the area (the stations). In its shadow passing people from all backgrounds, custom, language: maybe the observation of the human context of the area is more interesting than the visit to the monument. Only regret the persistence of groups of drug dealers, incomprehensibly tolerated.
