4.4/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web
After his soldiers destroyed one church, Bartolomeo Colleoni, commander of the Republic of Venice, ordered the construction of Cappella Colleoni on the same site in 1472. The chapel combines Romanesque, medieval, and Gothic styles with a traditional Renaissance structure. The polychrome marble designs in red, white, and black, adorn the outside and embody its extravagance. Admire the exterior, then head inside to browse the collection of 18th-century artwork. You can also visit Colleoni's tomb on the wall facing the entrance. Pictures are not allowed inside. • A beautiful chapel located beside the Basilica, but no pictures allowed. The ornate interior is worth the short amount of time needed to see it.l
  • In the chapel there is the famous monument of Colleoni great leader bergamasco who made one of the most important cities of Bergamo his era under the illustrious St. Mark's lion.

  • The best of this Chapel is its façade filled with red marbles and a groundbreaking design next to basilica. In its interior there is little to do and usually open later than the basilica. You can see a spectacular from the top of the Bell Tower of the plaza.
