  • Nice collection of artists mainly from Northern Italy, beautiful renovation attention in winter the stairs between floors are not heated.

  • If you switch from Bergamo don't miss this little gem dedicated to one of the greatest painters of the 500 namely Lorenzo Lotto. Few gems but beautiful especially "the conversation" I'd seen before in its usual location, namely at Palazzo Barberini in Rome. In my opinion you can talk not only of Titian red but also with red lot: mellow, bright, magnificent. The accademia Carrara offers among other things: two beautiful Madonnas by Bellini, Mantegna, Raphael, a young Hayez and my favorite: a Pascoe. Worth a visit.

  • The Carrara has an excellent display of famous paintings and provides a portable TouchPad option that discuss many of the pieces in English as you meander through the two floors of artwork. A history ...  more »

  • Very nice collection - not too big and complicated. Entrance fee is 10€s and is open toll 19:00. In general 2hrs should be enough - very enjoyable.
  • A gallery with paintings by Italian artists, mostly from the 15th to 18th century. There are also a few sculptures. A nice way to spend an afternoon.
  • Beautiful City Art Gallery. The collection exhibits painting of some of the most important painters of the Italian tradition. It has been important in developing the culture and passion of the art in the local community. My preferred one is `Ritratto di giovane` by Lorenzo Lotto.
  • A wonderful collection in the most beautiful city in northern Italy!
  • A Museum of national importance returned to the community completely renovated. Fundamental works for every century from the middle ages to the nineteenth century, that are accompanied by original guided tours and activities every week. Must see for anyone visiting Bergamo!
