Orrido di Bellano, Bellano

3.8
#1 of 13 in Nature in Lake Como
Take in the sweet smell of fresh air and the calm of rushing water at Orrido di Bellano, a waterfall and gorge. This natural attraction is the result of water erosion that took place over 15 million years ago. Explore the gorge and waterfall via thin wooden platforms which lead to a lookout point with a spectacular view of the sparkling lake below. The narrow path travels through the rocky crevasses lined with ferns and shrubbery, and the fall's powerful force provides an awe-inspiring retreat in a very scenic spot. • Pure entertainment!!! You walk through a ravine overhanging the route where you can enjoy the stunning scenery of the Pioverna torrent water erosion. the only waterway flowing from South to North of the Alps due to tectonic movements deviated its waterway centuries ago.

  • visit Sunday, January 28, the Gorge is definitely worth a visit, very nice the show created by nature and water, but the place is not well maintained, there are also some dangerous openings in barriers closed by the handle of a broom of mass Askew. ... Path to lasting 15/20 minutes to 4 euros. the Devil's Tower is not open to the public.

  • This is a lovely place to visit while in bellano. I won't pretend it's the best €4 I've ever spent but it was pretty cool to see this waterfall seemingly come from nowhere in this little town. The walk is pretty short but the sheer power of the falls and the colour of the water was cool to see. It is set in a beautiful place too. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and even though we had to leave because they closed between 1 and 3pm they said we were welcome to use our tickets to get back in later. Definitely worth a visit if you're in or passing through bellano.
  • Amazing place, very magical. Quite comfortable for walking, though not wheelchair accessible, there are stairs so keep that in mind.
  • מפל נחמד. שווה את ההליכה אליו כי זה לא רחוק מהעיירה למעשה בתוכה. הליכה לא קשה ולא ארוכה.
  • We had walked on the Wayfarers path from Varenna and timed it perfectly to visit the Orrido. (Opened 11am - 1pm ) Paying 4€ each was well worth the fee. Spectacular sight and it must have been quite a challenge for someone to make this possible for us to visit today with all the walkways etc. The falls are gorgeous, the water colour stunning, noisy! We then enjoyed a coffee with our picnic at the tables provided at the entrance.
  • Bit small - takes no more than 25 minutes to go around even if you stop on every corner and enjoy the waterfall with some sections closed to visitors. But overall still worth visit very impressive
