  • The place is undeniably lovely, but you have to "deserve". Personally advise against the months of July and August when the beach, overcrowded, is unlivable and won't be able to enjoy it fully. The caves are often used by uneducated as to bodily needs, better not go too. Cala Luna can be reached by land from at least three points from a path that starts from Cala Fuili, from a path down from Cuile Bidunnie, and from Codula di Luna. The latter path is around 10 km, but it is also the most impressive. The walls of Codula celano jealously the oldest part of the history of Sardinia, with nuragic villages hidden among the greenery and the only Sardinian nuragic village inside a cave which opens about 20-30 m above the ground. A hiking holiday in a rugged gorge below where you open the Italy's largest Karst system, over 70 km of tunnels and shafts connected with the most famous grotta del Bue Marino.

  • To get to this corner of paradise you have 2 possibilities, or follow the path from Cala Fuili (approximately 2:00), or take the ferry from Cala Gonone. The beach is very long and in the final part includes a series of caverns and caves that, especially with the summer caluria let you cool off a little. In the Interior there is a bar/restaurant where you can take different paths, one of which follows the river bed and throat very impressive.

  • The best way to see it is via the excursions by boat from Cala Gonone or Santa Maria Navarrese. I'm not an experienced sailor but it seems to me that the currents of the Gulf of Orosei is ill-suited to boat trips.
