4.7/5 based on 1,200+ reviews on the web
Take in the atmosphere of Bessano de Grappa with views from Ponte degli Alpini. Originally built in 1569 but destroyed many times since, most recently during World War II, the wooden bridge affords views of the river Brenta and the nearby Alps on one side, and charming riverside houses on the other. As a gateway to the old part of town, the covered pedestrian bridge flanked by grappa bars harbors a social atmosphere. • ... us ci darem la mano ... It is natural to hum the song that talks about the bridge so it, like the bridge itself, have become part of the collective imagination. Don't cross a bridge, only four passes in history!

  • It's not every day, at least for me, to cross a wooden bridge, which has its birth, more or less, the 1200 and been rearranged several times over the centuries (between water wars and Furies) and rebuilt on a project by Palladio in mid 1500 ... Take a side trip ... is really impressive

  • I am originally from Veneto and are again and again I am in Bassano. This place and its history always have lots of charm. Worth a stop for a couple of hours (more than enough considering that the area of the historical center you visit in no)

  • Historic wooden landmark bridge dating to XVI century, rebuilt after WWII and a major flood in the '60s.
  • It's a gorgeous place. Where to find this with the movida Bassano and the past with the old bridge and the marks, still visible very well, the wars that our grandfathers fought.

  • Spectacular. To visit and after the visit is "necessary" to jump to the N to an excellent "half and half" and Poles to sample the other face of grappa in Bassano (of course now it is commercial Grappa, whereby more curiosity to visit the premises).

  • The old bridge is also known as ponte degli Alpini, a crucial link between Bassano and Vicenza built in the 12th century and destroyed for the first time by the flood of Brenta in half of the 15th century
