  • This was perhaps the highlight of our Italian experience because of the gorgeous property, the history, the delicious wine and especially because of our guide, Chiarra. Forgive me if I misspelled that...  more »

  • We booked this apartment for 7 days, but only stayed for 4 nights while we tried to get a refund because the apartment is not as described. 1. The apartment is described as "Fantastic Apartment with two Bedrooms and two Bathrooms Located in a fairy Castle property" The apartment is not in the castle, it is an annex to the castle. Following our complaint the listing has now been updated. 2. The apartment was described has having fast internet. This is not the case, the internet is slow and unreliable. Airbnb offered us the opportunity to purchase a mobile dongle, but the phone signal in the area is so poor, even this would not provide a decent internet connection. 3. The apartment was described as having a policy of no children under 12, which we liked, as we wanted a peaceful time in Tuscany. On arriving at the apartment, there was another family in the apartment above with two children aged 6. 4. Due to the construction of the apartments being from 1500's there is no sound or heating insulation in the walls, floors, ceilings or roof. You can hear nearly everything from the apartment above and with two children running around, its like someone banging a drum. We requested to leave early due to the misrepresentation of the listing, but Antonio refused to provide a refund, stating; "We are not willing to make a refund" "However tomorrow morning at 9 I'll be there at the Castle because I really like to meet you and to try to find a solution" Antonio never visited us during our short stay. This was the excuse for poor internet "... we had a bad weather last 2 days and probably this is the problem." "On AIRbnb we used to not accept children (our first choice) ...but if the apartment is empty (as last minute offer) we can accept also children.... on the listing there isn’t the assurance to all the guests that children aren’t in the structure. " Due to Antonio 'knowing' the French family staying above us as confirm in his response "And we also talked to the family, we know them" we felt we were not treated fairly by Antonio, and he never treated our complaint seriously. We felt the whole team onsite are not used to people complaining and they were always right. Due to the apartment not having air conditioning all the windows in the apartment needed to be left open, but this just gave us another problem with insect bites. The price of the apartment dropped after booking, if we left it to the last minute we could have made a saving.
