  • Come on in Barbaresco to replenish stocks of barbaresco. The intention was to buy the winery for the manufacturer. We find it closed while stock lasts!! Then we go to the liquor store and find some of our favorite Barbary: small producers with great value: the ca ' nova and Rizzi! Very pleased.

  • Enoteca of Barbaresco feature in a former Church. Here you can find them all or almost all the producers of the area.

  • As soon as you arrive in front of you will think I'm wrong, but no, that's right: the Church is actually a wine bar. On late Baroque style, but with a wide selection of local wines in the shelf instead of icons of Saints. And in place of the altar, here's the tour samples. At least impressive. The prices seemed the same manufacturer. Only flaw (though I understand why) the sign that warns that tastings are extra (unless you then buy).

  • A deconsecrated church has been turned into a great wine tasting shop. It picks 4-5 wines at random each day out of the hundreds they have in stock to offer for tasting. €3/taste (glass), but these are generous pours compared to the ones we are used to in California. We were served by a friendly person who obviously knew a lot about the wines.
  • Sells wine from many of the smaller producers at very reasonable prices.. Asking 3 euro per glass for a tasting is somewhat less reasonable.
  • Cardinal point for those who want to get an idea of the name!
