Villa Lante, Bagnaia

(4.1/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
A nice place for a walk or picnic, Villa Lante features huge fountains, grottos, and ancient statues surrounded by shaded walkways and geometric shrub gardens. Composed of two Mannerist-style buildings, the villa itself dates back to the 16th century. The ducal family lived here until it was severely damaged in World War II. Dr. Angelo Cantoni then acquired and restored it. The garden is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani, a garden association that includes many of Italy's historic gardens. • Quick visit to the gardens, beautiful! The ticket is 5 €, for this it is expected that in addition to prune the plants to be treated even the fountains ... instead I consider to be a bit left to themselves, consumed by the mosses do more!! Deserves a lot more care this place!! To see

  • Maps inaccurate taking us on site by entering the name, better off. A nice Park held in extremely well with free entrance. Access to Italian garden costs 5 euros (and of course it's worth it all). Access to the villa is by appointment only and if I remember correctly at the weekend. The garden is very nice (although it could do better) and fountains inside are very interesting and a little reminiscent of Villa d'Este in Tivoli.

  • A pleasant springtime trip with old friends in the history and beauty. What a pity the lack of maintenance to plumbing that would report to the ancient splendors fountains and water features.  more »

  • This is such a beautiful place, not touristic and a real gem! The palace has nice decorations, and the garden is amazing with the fountains. Take a lunch with you and enjoy the grounds!
  • Beautiful gardens. Not too big so the kids didn't get bored either. Wonderful landscape architecture and water features.
  • To see absolutely. First and foremost there is a part for free where you can walk in a large park and maybe have a nice picnic. Secondly, for a fee (reasonable price), there are the gardens of the villa, the most beautiful in Italy by category "Italian gardens". This discount for teachers and students up to 25 years.
