Villa Lante, Bagnaia

(4.1/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web)
A nice place for a walk or picnic, Villa Lante features huge fountains, grottos, and ancient statues surrounded by shaded walkways and geometric shrub gardens. Composed of two Mannerist-style buildings, the villa itself dates back to the 16th century. The ducal family lived here until it was severely damaged in World War II. Dr. Angelo Cantoni then acquired and restored it. The garden is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani, a garden association that includes many of Italy's historic gardens. • Were at the Villa Lante in early February for the whole family with a child-really enjoyed it! Entrance cost about 6 euros per adult, a child 7 years old-free of charge. View Villa itself almost failed, allowed only two rooms, but the Villa Park, is just delightful, fountains, podstrizhenye bushes and lawns, and on the other hand, naturally overgrown velvety Moss statue of the Renaissance. In summer, the heat should be even more pleasant to walk in the lush Park where water splashes everywhere ... Paid part of the Park of Villa Dante is adjacent to a large free Park where you can pleasantly to walk and sit by fountains on the soft grass:) P.s. the day before were at the Villa d'Este in Tivoli, Villa Lante enjoyed no less, even though it is more Chamber.

  • Villa truly stunning, highly recommended. At the center of the country, ticket 5 euros to visit the terraces, the right side is a public park free

  • There is a wonderful garden at Villa Lante, groomed and adorned with beautiful fountains. You will find buildings filled with beautiful frescoes and an atmosphere between the rural and the Regal. The structure, rich in history, is part of the district that also includes the Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and Villa d'Este in Tivoli. Entrance fee 5 € (2.5 € If you are younger than 25 years old). The advice is to park at the station in the hamlet of Bagnaia and then climb to a designated staircase to the nearby square to get to the mansion on the doorstep. Clean toilets available at the entrance where there is also a small lounge area with vending machines. Time to visit about 2-3 hours. Worth going to.

  • This is such a beautiful place, not touristic and a real gem! The palace has nice decorations, and the garden is amazing with the fountains. Take a lunch with you and enjoy the grounds!
  • Beautiful gardens. Not too big so the kids didn't get bored either. Wonderful landscape architecture and water features.
  • To see absolutely. First and foremost there is a part for free where you can walk in a large park and maybe have a nice picnic. Secondly, for a fee (reasonable price), there are the gardens of the villa, the most beautiful in Italy by category "Italian gardens". This discount for teachers and students up to 25 years.
