Villa Lante, Bagnaia
(4.1/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
A nice place for a walk or picnic, Villa Lante features huge fountains, grottos, and ancient statues surrounded by shaded walkways and geometric shrub gardens. Composed of two Mannerist-style buildings, the villa itself dates back to the 16th century. The ducal family lived here until it was severely damaged in World War II. Dr. Angelo Cantoni then acquired and restored it. The garden is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani, a garden association that includes many of Italy's historic gardens. • The Villa, Park and garden are a work of Renaissance art: the symmetry of the buildings, the waterfall, the various levels of the garden that are discover different places as you climb. I studied at the University in detail, after more than two decades the only disappointment (not recently) was seeing how that unfortunately degraded, but worth a visit.

  • Garden to visit. Fountains, statues, and lots and lots of green. With beautiful landscaping.

  • This is such a beautiful place, not touristic and a real gem! The palace has nice decorations, and the garden is amazing with the fountains. Take a lunch with you and enjoy the grounds!
  • Beautiful gardens. Not too big so the kids didn't get bored either. Wonderful landscape architecture and water features.
  • To see absolutely. First and foremost there is a part for free where you can walk in a large park and maybe have a nice picnic. Secondly, for a fee (reasonable price), there are the gardens of the villa, the most beautiful in Italy by category "Italian gardens". This discount for teachers and students up to 25 years.
