Must be good little consideration for the history and the arts to give a negative opinion on this sumptuous villa. Certainly the lack of means is felt, but instead of complaining on the price of the tickets, we'll be happy to modestly put the hand in the Pocket to participate in the preservation of this exceptional heritage. Because it is exceptional: testimony of excess and splendor in which lived the Sicilian aristocracy, the Villa Palagonia surprised also by the boldness of its architecture and the mysterious madness of these statues of grimacing faces that are - quite rightly - the reputation of the place. History of art and culture lovers revel without a doubt of this brief but surprising visit.

Beautiful baroque Villa practically abandoned to itself! I get angry at the thought that it is left like that! It costs 6.00 euro per person (although on all sites is written 5.00 euros) and licensed with the guy we thought we have a discount of 50% (as written on the site of fai) but obviously miss the ticket says that they removed the Convention this year ... anyway, moral of the story we pay 6.00 euros each, without a shred of brochures or information on what to see ... or which way to go ... we go in, we go in the Hall of mirrors, followed by another Hall, the rest of the villa is not open to the public because rundown ... nice garden with statues of monsters but uncared for and without any information or services to visitors! Really a shame ... by Sicilian I felt joke! I wonder what would the 5th Prince of Palagonia, its former owner and founder, seeing her in this wretched state! Bad management!

Beautiful villa (there are more to visit in Bagheria) too bad the villa what expired, yet it has a huge charm with its images (grotesques) and paintings. Also a garden. The villa is sandwiched between the streets and houses of Bagheria. You can park free on the other side. The villa is open every day, in the season already at 09.00 hours between 1 pm and 3:30 pm closed. Folders available.

  • If you are staying out in Bagheria it's worth a visit to this quirky and charming villa. The Gothic statues will for sure keep you mesmerized. The place is small though. For the entrance fee you only see a few rooms and the garden just around the perimeter. No your guide or audio either. Just you and some endearing statues. This place is great to break up the sights of ruins and churches. It certainly adds some levity and a new conversation.
  • I visited the villa a few years ago, took the train from Palermo and walked all the way from the train station. I'll never forget the experience, it is still the quirkiest place in the world and an amazing experience. I do recommend anyone who has an opportunity to visit. I'd like very much to return to see it again.
