  • Along the provincial road that leads into the Val Formazza, exceeded Beerwah, few kilometers after meets Baceno. In that Valley attractions are many, but, personally, I forced a stop, too short, to enjoy a visit to the Church of San Gaudenzio. The Visual impact that the Romanesque façade, and the shades of grey that only Serizzo, succeeds in giving is remarkable. The earliest records date back to the year 1000, since the additions, changes have taken place, but I assure you (put a few euros in the box connected to the lighting system) you will see inside a show you'll remember for a long time. It's not about being scholars, experts in archaic or old paint, even the simple visitors, the endless series of frescoes create awe and wonder. All available space is covered with frescoes, the subjects are different, the nursing Madonna, the Apostles, the Ecce Homo, Santa Caterina, the crucifixion, but the real gem are works concerning the life and works of St. Gaudentius, Bishop of Novara and patron of the Church. Attracted to the scenes, colors that have maintained the strong shades, I am sure that you will remain with the nose up, not to miss a detail of this jewel seeds-hidden among the mountains of Ossola.

  • We went several times in this church, she's amazing planted on its rocky peak at the end of village. Fully painted it is wonderful, full of surprise. Unfortunately documentation is quite low, an apocryphal 'supper', right in entering... to do under the Sun, snow, night... to see
