Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Auronzo di Cadore

(4.8/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Tre Cime di Lavaredo or “the three peaks of Lavaredo” measure up at 3 km (1.9 mi) in elevation. They have long represented a border or a battleground: You’ll still find fortifications, man-made caves, and plaques commemorating World War I in this area. Although these mountains are accessible by toll road, you can experience the best views via excursions on foot. If you don’t have much mountaineering experience, consider the circuit around the base of the peaks. • Were by car from Moscow, the road from Mizuriny, (afternoon cheaper) Very beautiful species, sometimes fascinating! A lot of tourists, sometimes even had to skip the "crowd" forward that would go one. In the circle did not, due to the large amount of time, will definitely return again!

  • The visit to them Dolomites not would be complete without at least one day in it, possibly, more emblematic of their mountains: the 3 peaks of the Lavaredo. The first thing is to wait to enjoy a completely sunny day, because it is not the same walking through the mist to zero degrees and without any visibility, that have background sky limpidly blue where the Sun will allow us to dispossess of the anoraks. We have to start from Cortina d'Ampezzo and reach Misurina, by the sinuous SR48 (with the lavish Monte Cristallo to our left and their legendary "Ivano Dibona", one of the most well-known and aerial "ferrata" of the Dolomites) pass the two beautiful lakes (the first Misurina and the Antorno then), until the "toll booth" that will allow us , upon payment of € 22 by tourism (if we want to return can pay €5 more per day extra), go up to the Refugio Auronzo, starting point for all excursions around these towers, which by way of stone towers, the massif of the Lavaredo become a unique Cathedral of nature. Leave the car in the great parking (there are two areas) close to the refuge, that not has more interest that take a coffee and visit them toilets (is can eat of sandwiches or pizzas to prices something more expensive of it normal and course, if makes lack, sleep in "mode refuge") and take advantage of for get good photographs of them magnificent landscapes that is open to our feet. Beside the refuge have a large information panel with the different courses that we can (or we dare) do. If our physical form is minimal (and we don't have much time) cannot simply up the skirt of the Monte Paterno to the foot of the 3 peaks, from where comes the path up to the Refugio Locatelli (attention: before uploading it is appropriate to inform us of what shelters are open; in this visit our all, except the Auronzo, were closed). A time there and if the ice it allows (and our form physical, clear), exists the possibility of lower by several roads in the shed North of them 3 peaks, that arrive until the Malga Langalm, and of there return, giving it turned in a circle almost perfect until the parking of the refuge Auronzo (this tour can assume ones 9-10 km that is take easily of 6 to 8 hours). Remember to them users of bicycles that is terminamente forbidden travel these paths mounted in them, which not respected nobody with the risk that this supposed for them walkers. In any case, get until the refuge Lavaredo passing by the chapel Degli Alpini, and have to our feet the spectacular Valley with Auronzo di Cadore to the Fund, to our left the solid Monte Paterno (with their numerous trails and way via ferrata) and to our back, them standing towers of them three peaks, already is enough stimulus for our eyes. No one who comes to this region, should visit this natural wonder that you can. Say that in our case, has been the third when possible, because the first two times (back in 1982 and 1989 I want to remember), when still there was no toll, not culminated in success, because on both occasions we had to flip past the Malga Rhine Bianco (very, very close to the Refugio Auronzo), once by the heavy snow that emphatically closed the road and the other because simply, the road ceased to exist (a huge avalanche of stones ate literally 200 m from aslfato). Finally, several years after almost "touch the tops with your hands", have been intensely enjoying its beauty and Majesty.

  • Awesome place. I also recommend lunch at the White Ring Manga. The three peaks are three of the most famous peaks of the Dolomites, Dolomites. Are considered some of the best known natural wonders in the world of mountaineering.
