  • Palazzo Mazzetti is located towards the end of corso Alfieri and houses the pinacoteca civica di Asti, plus temporary exhibitions: currently on the ground floor there are two beautiful exhibitions of paintings of Corrado Cagni and Francesco Menzio (two Italian painters of the ' 900). Very nice some rooms of the noble floor where is the pinacoteca. I loved the Hall of Seasons collecting collection of Chinese and Japanese exhibits donated primarily by heirs of the Italian Royal Navy Rear Admiral Henry Second Guglielminetti. Admission is free for cardholders Turin museums, otherwise costs € 5 and also includes three other sites in Asti.

  • Palazzo mazzetti until 4 December presents the exhibition dedicated to the painter corrado cagli, born in ancona in 1910 and died in Rome in 76. in 13 rooms of the exhibition-that starts to the right of the ticket counter-180 works by this artist are on display around, able to "tell" all his career 30 years after his death. the first 4 salt collect paintings of his Roman period and those of the next American period, where he emigrated because of the racial laws. the epic theme are contrasted those of a more abstract. You can also admire 3 tapestries, made by engenhoca: wheel of fortune, the enigma of the rooster and Judith, of which there are also preparatory drawings. go down and then in the basement where the first biblical epic-themed designs and room 39 exposes mostly. on a screen flow picture of cagli, since he was a child at the time of the war in which he served returning from the United States to close with the stage of maturity. There is no audio. in the short corridor there are 10 drawings all dedicated to Auschwitz and then take the 2 rooms still devoted to drawing. before returning 2 ceramic plates are seen on the ground floor dedicated to the harvester and the angler, a portrait of ungaretti and 2 sculptures: ganesh, in silver, and the cage. the stairs are placed two other designs and thus concludes with the last 3 rooms, where you can admire a sculpture, Diogenes, a dozen paintings including two views of Rome made for an exhibition of 37, a terracotta head and the last 4 ceramics: Icarus, constellations, the goddess Venus and the 4 winds. constellations is a lamp. the latter were carried out between 28 and 29, when he was editor of a ceramics factory in umbertide. the exhibition is very smooth and enjoyable. Apart from the introductory Panel which is located next to the first room there are other pieces of information to read. you visit in about 40 minutes. the ticket is the same one that allows you to also visit the permanent collection and the small exhibition dedicated to the painter francesco menzio located to the left of the ticket office. great initiative that recently saw the introduction of a single ticket that costs 5 € to visit palazzo mazzetti, torre troyana, cripta di sant'anastasio, Roman House and baptistery of St. Peter. It is valid for two days. a good opportunity to see this beautiful city!
