  • To all pilgrims. .. If you go from Asti come see the Cathedral ... You'll immediately notice that compared to other cathedrals our has the distinction of having as main entrance a side entrance. Historically, the building of a cathedral in fact implies that the city grew around it, leaving it near the middle. In our case it was not ... Inside for lovers of history you'll find many interesting things that I'm not anticipating. You should also visit the crypt ... And while you look around maybe recited praise because you also amazed were donated his eyes to see so much beauty. Greetings.

  • The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is the ultimate expression of Gothic architecture in the region of Piedmont and is placed among the greatest examples of Gothic architecture in Northern Italy Lombardy appreciable. The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Asti, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city. With 82 meters long and 24 in height and width is one of the largest churches of Piedmont. The façade has three rose Windows surmounted by two oculi and a window. Laterally, the Pelletta Portal presents in the angular statues of Saints, including Girolamo, Pietro, Paolo e Biagio, all dating from the late fifteenth century. The Romanesque Bell Tower, dating back to 1266 and was remodelled in the 18th century; contains a concert of nine bells. There are also ruins of a cloister.
