  • Not to be missed! Walking in these woods, recovered, protected and guarded by the FAI is a gift that you have to make when going to assisi. The beauty of the views and perfumes is indescribable! There is also an old Tavern in which if you want you can eat divinely. Recommended!

  • Once again we have to thank the Fai, we are advocates for a number of years, for his precious work of recovery of our cultural heritage and landscape. So thanks to the valuable work of volunteers, in collaboration with landscape architects and scholars, was allowed all of us to enjoy this large green space that conveys emotions tied to nature but also becomes a spiritual path as the history of the Woods connects to the religious orders that here lived and worked. We went from the visitor center located near the complex of Santa Croce, given a new life, up to the third Heaven, created by artist Pistoletto. Going up on the Tower Annamaria is seen in all its breadth a multitude of olive infinity loops, symbol of the Union between the natural and the artificial. We tried a feeling of great peace and harmony with all creation. It ends at the Holy Cross Bridge near the mill, now converted into osteria. Another route, with departure and arrival at the complex near the monastery of the Holy Cross. We advise everyone to try this experience where nature and landscape are the soul of this corner of Umbria. You can also purchase an excellent olive oil produced from the olive trees grown in Woods, additional and valuable contribution to Make.

  • The walk here from the Basilica di San Francesco was wonderful. Truly beautiful woods - very peaceful, and away from the crowds you'll find in Assisi. An easy hike, well marked and maintained. There are lots of things to discover that the maps will point out to you if you feel adventurous.
  • The contact with nature and with the story of Saint Francis and not only ... very good example of how a place can be transformed by the love of workers and some volunteers ...

  • A place well kept, recovered by neglect and degradation. Congratulations. The arrival to the basilica from the path through the forest is an experience that adds value to the masterpiece of Assisi
