  • This huge basilica occupying one end of the Umbrian town of Assisi, is on at least three levels. It is a massive structure, and it is just amazing. It is incredibly ornate, which, somehow, we feel Sai...  more »
  • Great job you do! Ripilito, fixed, open to the public, this lovely place. You can hardly find the entrance, a small door on the wall facing the square in the upper Basilica of St Francis. It seems almost hides. It is this its magic: a secluded religious, mystical, even in the eyes of a layman DOC. No need to add words, descriptions to what has already been said and written. You have to go there, perhaps in a low period visits by tourists and visit him in solitude or in intimate company. Breathe, think, rethink, rediscover yourself, nature, life, history and the future. Thanks to the Woods to exist and to all who have made usable.

  • Thanks to the Fai, which has given life to a magical place, this wood is gorgeous to go on cool days and to be admired in peace and quiet. I went through these woods with my class up to the Third Heaven (wow) where we climbed the tower to see its symbol from the top. Place held really well by the fai and volunteers.

  • The walk here from the Basilica di San Francesco was wonderful. Truly beautiful woods - very peaceful, and away from the crowds you'll find in Assisi. An easy hike, well marked and maintained. There are lots of things to discover that the maps will point out to you if you feel adventurous.
  • Beautiful, one of our favorite places. Often we spend with our friends at two and four legged our weekend at Woods. In the summer we do some nice picnic and in winter when the stream is in full the falls are a sight to behold.

  • Trail groomed and charming. Great job of FAI. Overall I have to say, being a family of 5 persons, € 19 for entry seem a little excessive (5 €/adulto and € 3/bambino).
