  • Not going back for many years. The place is always great. The hotel unfortunately is run down. Inside you can feel the history and you can visit, accompanied by one of two municipal employees who manage the structure, the apartment where Mussolini was imprisoned. Everything remained intact. Hopefully soon we do something to enhance and preserve this fine establishment

  • So, my family and I with a four-legged companion, we went in December. Beautiful sunny day, blue sky. We leave the car under the cable car and take the cable car. That wind! In the cabin we had. Stunning views across the Valley, until you reach the refuge. We got out of the cab and the wind carried. Never felt so cold, yet we were all heavily clothes! It was the wind that really cut the face. I mean, we started to laugh and walk braving the wind but had to enter the hut and snag a hot chocolate. Unfortunately we didn't get to take a hike because really the wind was awful, very strong and cold and snow from the ground up, so it was very difficult to walk and the visibility was not good. We had fun, it's beautiful. Bill to come back in the summer to have another landscape.

  • In June 2017 we took a day trip to Campo imperatore from Assergi drive (base site in the immediate vicinity of Hotel Giampy exit. Pretty sweet and wide roadway of the road (to go by bicycle) that takes us to share through long and suggestive strokes on the plateau (final part only is steeper than 10%) gradients touches. In Campo imperatore you will enjoy a beautiful view (to seize it you have to go down close to the frame of telecommunications) about Assergi L'Aquila and the laver (well ... on Eagle's nest) and you can at least see from outside the Observatory. The historic hotel where he was temporarily imprisoned il Duce would deserve a renovation (deteriorated paint the facade). Upon returning after short break in rustic serving kebabs outdoors, we went to visit the Rocca Calascio and exquisite village of Santo Stefano (where feverish renovations). A rooftop tour of Abruzzo to do in good company.
