  • Visit this cemetery is interesting because it is the tomb of Eleonora Duse and Freya Stark, and the graves are maintained well, however in the end it is always a cemetery. To stop by

  • I don't think that's a coincidence. Both graves are side by side without alun religious symbol and seemingly odd, facing north. In fact it was a want of Duse to be positioned towards the Monte Grappa perhaps deference to the thousands of fallen in World War I. The Stark, certainly his friend and admirer, decided not to leave her alone and get in the way on the same side. If you do not know the reason it remains puzzled to see the two tombs placed backwards of many others on both sides of the Knoll cemetery.

  • It's worth getting there more for the walk than anything else. Basically it's a cemetery. The tomb of Eleonora Duse there was a red rose, brought by the lady who went before us. Impressive.
