  • Wow!! A show. A true spectacle. Magical. Shame we could not visit the inside.

  • Yes is not far from the city centre in an area known as the catacombs Ascoli tied to the advent of Christianity in Ascoli. The temple was built in 1700, following a vote of the ascolani towards s. Emidio, patron saint of the city back from the brink of a big earthquake. S. Emidio is the protector of earthquakes. The temple consists of a natural cave with stone casing. The travertine façade is leaning against the wall of Tuff and is built above a portico surmounted by a circular dome. The work was carried out by Giuseppe Giosafatti. It is really beautiful and charming definitely worth visiting.

  • After seeing her in photography I decided to go to Ascoli for realizing it. Amazement was when I entered the town, really nice. I was just giving up because I couldn't find the tempietto Sant'Emidio rosso asked me indicated but despite that it is precisely in the historical centre, then I found the real one and it was something that reminded me of Petra. Pity it was closed and no one to ask, but it was worth it. Visit Ascoli, take the famous stuffed olives and you go to the temple, but let it finally completes your tour in a magnificent.

  • The sanctuary, Indeed quite small, is an important place for the history of its Saint. The cave and the adjacent property are well kept by the Association that deals with treating the places of worship of Saint Emidio, association that also takes care of tours (by appointment), also free.
