  • In the splendid setting of palazzo Arringo, be sure to pay a visit to the art gallery. Piece must cope of the 13th century by Pope Nicholas IV. The ticket 8 euro are absolutely well spent because you can see works of great value (Crivelli, Cola dell'Amatrice, Tiziano, Guido Reni.). The exhibition rooms are richly furnished and, at the time of our visit, enriched by a singular view of Bajaj and Carey that he very intrigued.

  • I'm not sure what the juxtaposition of the modern ceramic food sculture with medieval painting is all about? Something about excess? Requires more explanation. Otherwise some good pieces. As I don't s...  more »
  • The town's art is beautiful. Rich in paintings of significant authors mostly of local origin or who lived in Ascoli for some time. The art gallery also does not collect only paintings but also very interesting sculptures and antique furniture, all dating from various historical periods, ranging from 1400 to early 1900. What struck me from profane which you see as the predominant theme in artworks changes over time. In ancient times, the main theme is of a religious nature, while as you go forward in time to the center of the painting starts to be the man and then also the landscapes, while the religious theme begins to disappear. Certainly sign of maturation and cultural evolution of the human being. Beautiful also the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II who competed to finish on Capitol and who lost and was donated by its author to the municipality that handed it to this museum. Too bad that a room is not accessible due to earthquake (apparently the attic has moved a few centimeters). For the rest I would remove as soon as possible the exhibition of "modern" art in an environment so beautiful and "classic" are just an eyesore ... and stomach.

  • Located on piazza Arringo, the Town Hall, is together with the most important picture gallery of the marches in Urbino, and one of the oldest in all of Italy, founded in 1861. Offers visitors a pleasant visit in elegant surroundings in 15 exhibition halls with works by artists such as Titian, Tintoretto, Crivelli, Cola Of Amatrice, Pelizza da Volpedo and others, as well as sculptures. To visit. Combined ticket with the archaeological museum.

  • To visit without a guide, nice to look at but the contemporary artworks of modern ceramics ... "slide" through the history I didn't like it at all! In the rooms there is a crazy hot ... maybe because the tourist must hurry to come out??

  • A must for every tourist, also not fond of culture: the art gallery of the city is beautiful to the eye and rich in history.
