  • The visit of the Papal paper mill, as well as show the beautiful property contains tools to figure out how to work the mill. Highly recommended for children and teens

  • I visited this museum on Sunday 23 April, I arrived with such enthusiasm and went out with the nervous 1 hour and a half later ... without even being able to see the water Museum and the natural history upstairs because meanwhile had been closed. The structure and its history are very interesting because they allow to understand how prior to the arrival of motorized machines engineers of the past were able to solve complex problems with scarce resources at that time. The kinetic and potential energy of the water, in this case, is the resource used to set in motion machinery with different functions. In a first phase, the energy of the water is used for grinding wheat and secondly for the dismemberment of the rags used in this mill to make sheets of paper. The Organization and the staff really leave much to be desired instead. For example, it is inconceivable that in days of potential full House there are only 2 guides and that even a single visitor start the guided tour. You have to set specific times to visit based on length of the Tower, and those arriving after waiting for the next round. Instead here. When I arrived before I had to wait 20 minutes for the Guide brunette was in "smoke break" while aching per person overworked. Then began the tour with the few people that were there. After about 15 minutes of visit at the entrance to come other visitors who are accompanied with us from riding blonde who in the meantime had freed. The Judas blonde moves to settle the property before closing, while the Guide for people who abandon us brunette meanwhile had added the first part of the tour that we had already done. And so we lost another 15-20 minutes. Then we reunited driving Brown and we went into the room where it is materially showed the production process of the single sheet of paper. At this point the blonde smarter Guide, which shows the process of realization of the paper. Meanwhile driving brunette, always stressing the overwork that rests on his shoulders, runs for half an hour for a new "smoke break". Whereupon we are forced to wait again as the explanation of the production process lasts less than the "smoke break". Do not imagine the nervous that I was getting ... To help return brunette we can finally complete the round seeing mallets for shredding some rags on the ground floor. Obviously the closing time had already passed from the time that the two museums on the top floor (accessible with the same ticket) were already closed. Moral of the story: we lost an hour and a half for a visit that would have required maximum half an hour. And if the times were those I could visit the other 2 museums before closing time and I would have also advanced the time to do more. Council to revise the Organization why so very wrong.

  • The exhibition held in the old factory documents the paper production process, including through charming vintage cars. Overall there are also the naturalist scientist Ascoli Antonio Orsini and the permanent exhibition dedicated to the engraver Nunzio Gulino.
