Vigne Surrau, Arzachena
(3.8/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
An ancient and deep-rooted passion for wine.

Vigne Surrau is a young company situated in Arzachena very close to Costa Smeralda.

The property is 50 hectares of farmlands mostly cultivated with vineyards.

• THE VINEYARDS

The vineyards are located in the heart of Gallura, in the countryside of Arzachena: Capichera, Chilvagghja and Surrau, 60m to 150 m over the sea level. The ground is made up of crushed granitic stone; it is manured in autumn every two years with organic compost and worked by machine during the spring and the summer.

Grapes: Vermentino, Cannonau, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignano, Muristellu.

Plant System : Guyot and spur cord

After the branches have been tied up, to defend them from the strong Mistral which blows very hard in the Sardinian coasts, the exceeding shoots are cutted down and, before the grapes turn to color, the fruitless bunch are eliminated.

In the springtime, when necessary, the vineyards are given treatments based on sulphur and copper-salt.

The yield per hectare is around 70 quintals for the red grapes: around 90 quintals for the Vermentino.

• THE CELLARS

A very modern architecture, fully equipped with stainless steel equipments, located in the middle of the Chilvagghja vineyards to assure the immediate processing of grapes.

The harvest is fully manual. The grape stalks are gently stripped; immediately after crushing the must is separated from the skins and fermentation is started under controlled temperature.

Instead the red grapes macerate for a few weeks, two or three, to extract the typical aromas and scents from the skins.

  • After a hard day of outdoor activities we go to this site for dinner. Already get there at night adds charm thanks to the skilful lighting the driveway and structure. Once inside we soaked in a shrine dedicated to wine, food and art. Modern but skilful with touches of tradition. Stunning display of wines. Once seated correct service with quality products and wines Surrau, certainly at the height of their fame. To quote the vermanente pork well cooked (many colleagues sardi to confirm it).

  • Pleasant and interesting visit to this Winery recently established but already has a production of fine wines. The visit includes the passage in the area of steel vats for fermentation, bottling area, the bottata and the barrel, ending with a quick installment in vineyards across the enterprise. The tour ends with a wide sampling of various farm products. The passito di Cannonau, rather rare

  • With honor and pride from Sardinian'm proud of this Winery and its wines. Cellar young but who knew how great products. After booking the visit 2 weeks before we were met beautifully by a young girl staff. We discussed the winery and wine production. Ditto the barrel room and the area dedicated to bottling and labelling. Taste and purchase wines graciously offered to 2 of 2 precious bottles that cannot be found easily in wine cellars. Congratulations. Must see if you go into the Gallura

  • I have been here four times. Always a pleasant wine tasting experience.
  • Beautiful with friendly staff.
  • rude as been going like I'm from another world I put it back and told me I had to write an email make appointment with commercial ... "we are a winery great." A little bit of humility and courtesy wouldn't be marred in addition to being able to detach a full-bodied, patience order probably already sell too ...

  • If you want to go to a winery, paying the wines almost three times as much compared to the big distribution accompanied by silly saucers of cheese or cold cuts, always paying, thinking that Surrau is the only company phenomenal that makes a good wine is what you need. But peering into the enchanting landscape from the terrace without see the shadow of a vine if you are wine enthusiasts should have the domande....ma don't worry when you pay the bill you will have the answers 👍👍

  • Beautiful Winery in the style of those you meet in Tramin (BZ) except that, except cannonau, everything else is above 15 €. Too much!
