  • Beautiful fortress overlooking Lake Maggiore, very well preserved and largely open also inside. Particularly fascinating in the spring and fall for the views.

  • Despite having been several times to the "San Carlone," I had never noticed that other tourist attraction in Arona. Nice Park, panoramic position, with bar/restaurant. Easily reached on foot or with trenino. Advisable in any season in winter

  • A public park in a spectacular location where the Borromei built their main fortress and where was born San Carlo. You see all things Bass Lake, novarese, the Crown of the Alps and then the ruins of the Castle destroyed by Napoleon (lowercase on purpose) animals in the Park, a playground and a food court. Can be accessed by car, parking is small, consider holidays access via the footpath that leaves from the Centre of town (not passegginabile) plenty of space to stretch out on the lawn (no picnic but fair prices) recommended for cultural, archaeological, historical or just for a bit of relaxation

  • Very beautiful castle including a puppet museum. Definitely worth a visit. :) For 10€ you will get the possibility to have a perfect sight over the lake and its surroundings.
  • Doll & Toy Museum is AWESOME. My daughter, age 6, and I had a great experience walking through the castle (which is also beautiful). Dolls and toys from all over the world, including their histories. We could well have spent all day at the castle and on the grounds. Unforgettable experience.
  • A fortress turned into a doll museum...but the view of the Lake Maggiore from it is amazing!!
  • A fort in nice condition offering magnificent views over the lake.
  • Stunning views and beautiful Castle
