  • Beautiful (and reasonably well preserved) cycle of frescoes from mid-12th C, showing life of St. Hermagoras, and some standard Christian scenes. I was particularly taken by the more informal, and more...  more »
  • The crypt is very special and so much more than just a part of a basilica. You can enter into another world where you see the remains of a 1st century Roman home, baptismal font and a continuation of ...  more »
  • A must visit if you're in the southern area of the Friuli Region. The mosaics on the floor of the church are great to reflect upon the thousands of hours it must have taken to construct it. I was disappointed that the two underground areas cost €4 to see. You could view some additional mosaics and frescoes, but these areas were rather limited. My favorite area was actually outside behind the Basilica in the Cemetery for the Fallen from WWI. The statues and tombstones are a must see.
  • Great day trip, amazing architecture and truly impressive art work.
  • Fantastic site and amazing history. Well preserved and very easy access to different areas. Belltower is closed between 13:30-15:30 but the rest is open throughout the day.
  • It's a really beautiful Church. Must come here is you are in the area
  • Again a really impressive old basilica. This is a must see also in conjunction with the old roman excavated parts of the ancient city aquiliera.
