Nell’anno del centenario della nascita di Poerio Carpigiani, fondatore con il fratello Bruto (l’ingegnere bolognese a cui si deve il brevetto della famosa Autogelatiera, riconosciuta tra le 34 invenzioni fondamentali del XX°secolo) dell’azienda omonima, è stata costituita e riconosciuta la Fondazione Bruto e Poerio Carpigiani, che ha promosso il Gelato Museum.

La mission è diffondere nel mondo la cultura del gelato fresco, prodotto artigianale fondato su una lunga ed illustre tradizione culinaria>, dice Andrea Cocchi, Direttore Generale del Carpigiani Group e Fondatore della Fondazione Bruto e Poerio Carpigiani. , spiega il Presidente Romano Verardi.

Bologna, 3 April 2012 – One hundred years ago, Poerio Carpigiani – founder of the company Carpigiani along with his brother Bruto – was born. The company was founded by the brothers to sell the famous Autogelatiera, invented by Bruto, and today recognized as one of the 34 fundamental inventions of the 20th century. It is only fitting that this important centenary be marked by the establishment of the Bruto and Poerio Carpigiani Foundation. Carpigiani Foundation has promoted the Gelato Museum.

“The foundation’s mission is to promote gelato culture throughout the world. Artisan gelato is a food that has a long and illustrious culinary tradition,” says Andrea Cocchi, General Director of the Carpigiani Group and founder of the Bruto and Poerio Carpigiani Foundation. “The foundation serves to honor the heritage of Bruto and Poerio Carpigiani, the two Bolognese entrepreneurs who contributed to the global diffusion of artisan gelato technology, culture, and business. Their memory deserves to be kept alive,” explaines President Romano Verardi “as they are symbols of progress, innovation, and new cultural advancements.”

  • Worth a visit. Took a tour when students on holiday so couldn't see how the ice cream is made. Guide informative ie showed old gelato machines, history, transportation and moulds but nothing was inter...  more »

  • Thoroughly enjoyable visit. If you have time I highly recommend doing the masterclass. You learn a lot more about the product and is a fun experience making Gelato yourself from scratch. Friendly English speaking staff and good value for money for Gelato fans!
