  • Severely damaged inside by the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake this church is unfortunately not accessible or open to the public. I very much hope that the restoration works are carried out and that the Church can reopen as soon as possible for the community of the faithful of Anversa degli Abruzzi and artistic/cultural heritage of our beautiful Italy.

  • The only significant element is the façade, that even though they are small and simple is still a nice effect for the rose and the decorated Portal-both 16th century-(not visited because the Church found closed) and why dominates the small village square In fact the value in the country of Anversa degli Abruzzi is not given to this church or San Marcello's oldest ruins or (very little) but from the whole of the medieval village, with houses perched on top of one another, in addition to the fact that the country is also the gateway to the Gole del Sagittario.

  • Gabriele D'annunzio in this lovely medieval town one of his masterpieces: "La fiaccola sotto il moggio" including the torch, according to a popular legend is the ruins of the Norman castle, which appears to have the shape of a flame. The beautiful 17th century Church dominates the town square and impresses the presence (on his simple and austere façade) of some high pagan-inspired. Above the entablature is symbolized a tomb from which Jesus leaves supported by Marie 2; on the right an effigy of Saint Jerome, translator of the Bible, left Sant ' Onofrio, hermit in Egypt. Too bad not having been able to visit.
