  • In September I took the ship to sail into the open sea in search of whales. Upon departure a biologist gave a lecture on the behaviour of whales that we could see projecting photographs. Then we went into the open sea, but whales were somewhere else, we encountered just a pod of dolphins that played in the waves produced by our ship. Anyway it was nice experience.

  • I traveled on the boat Monday, August 29, from Loano (without stopping to Andora): we were immediately in luck, because we found a herd of about 10 dolphins less than a mile offshore of Loano, being able to see them for about half an hour (biologist, very good explanations, said that over this time, the animals disturbed); then we traveled for several hours, seeing only a tuna and a few seabird. In the afternoon we spotted another pod of dolphins (a score) that have "played" with us for a few minutes, then disappeared, probably because he prevailed the maternal instinct to protect their young. We were particularly lucky, because we were told that, on other occasions, also have been sighted sperm whales and turtles (not whales, at least in 2016). Overall, we were quite disappointed, because the journey is quite strenuous and the boat is not kept in the best possible conditions (broken seats, unclean bathrooms). I am, however, very good marine biologist and his collaborators both in explaining both the sightings.

  • Exciting, but not really suitable for young children the ship should have different way to see dolphins and whales without having to run from one side to another of the ship
