  • The tower itself isn't that great, but the view that gives worth the hassle made to reach it. If you are in the area please come by and admire the Amalfi from above.

  • Once arrived at the Tower, the scenery that there is from up there is not even comparable to what can be seen as you reach the top! It is a pleasant walk from Pontoon and, from the Tower, you have a breathtaking view on Amalfi and Atrani. Highly recommended

  • Great excursion with departure from Sorrento, via a trail easy and pleasant that leads to one of the symbols of the troubled history of Amalfi. Just before reaching the Tower, though you must stop at the belvedere place right on top of the tower where you can admire a wonderful panorama of Amalfi and Atrani views from behind. Just below stands the Tower of Ziro surrounded dale walls of Grand Duchy of Amalfi, one of the many towers scattered along the Amalfi Coast used to spot from afar the fleets of Saracens who came from the sea. The torre dello Ziro was built in 1480 by Antonio Piccolomini, Duke of Amalfi, on the vestiges of an earlier 12th century tower. There are many mysteries from the walls of this tower that, having found the entrance gate opened, we were lucky enough to visit it from inside through a well protected iron stairway that reaches the top of the tower. According to tradition, popolarenella tower was first imprisoned, then killed Giovanna d'Aragona, Duchess of Amalfi, and his two sons rea had a love life too light for those times. The views from the tower is really wonderful if you think the sea is right in front of and behind the terrace of villa cimbrone. Our excursion was continued then to Atrani, Amalfi and back to Parker through the Valle delle Ferriere. Good journey at all.
