Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo, Amalfi

(4.8/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web)
Remodeled many times since the ninth century, Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo is home to the Crypt of St. Andrew. Two crosses--one a 13th-century wooden crucifix, the other mother of pearl brought from the Holy Land--represent two different periods in the cathedral's history. The bronze doors of the church were cast in the city of Constantinople before 1066, making them the city's earliest architectural feature of post-Roman manufacture. Visit the gardens, where arches, colonnades, and sculptures blend in with the colorful landscaping. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Amalfi holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Duomo di Sant'Andrea Apostolo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I'm always on the travel guide. Rossen because I don't, is that Amalfi? About suspect wasn't that popular.

  • Assuming that you have to pay three euros to see it (I would also agree if Rome would pay the ticket to see the marvellous Churches of the capital) I must say I loved the cloister and the beautiful frescoed crypt and where they keep a pot containing the manna of Saint Andrew and Saint's day melts. The Cathedral but I was disappointed. Still worth the money.

  • Beautiful church with its Museum, where you can admire Ancient frescos, sculptures in marble, wood, bronze and silver. Numerous works dedicated to Sant'Andrea Apostolo. To visit.
