  • Ad Altare to immerse ourselves in the glassmaking ligure, known more abroad than in Italy (where when it comes to masters is expected only in Murano ...), we visit this Museum, set in a wonderful villa in liberty style, really breathtaking. Here the works of masters altaresi (many of which are related to the family Bormioli ...), are displayed on the first and second floor of Villa Rosa, inside rooms and rooms tastefully decorated and very elegant goblets, vases, animals find trays, chemical Pharmacy and laboratory equipment, paintings and sculptures, all coming from collections dating from the early 20th century onwards. On the ground floor there are still some artifacts of Murano glass masters (even the great Venini ...), on display until March 4: wonderful works. In short, a very interesting Museum and rich in masterpieces of blown glass: not to be missed.

  • For a long time I no longer had the opportunity to visit the glass museum in altar. The other night with some friends accompanied by the leaders of the Museum I stepped through the gates of "Villa Rosa", I dove (with unchanged emotion) in the various rooms of this splendid building in pure Liberty of the early ' 900. Colour, stucco decorations, ceilings, floors, fixtures and stained glass windows were worthy and beautiful setting at bulletin boards in which sparkled and they were gorgeous pretty view the capidopera witness to that noble and ancient art that's 400 went out of Altar the leading Manufactory in Murano glass, along with field, with which he vied and excelled in the world. Cimbric vases and Constantine Bormioli glass, the Giants presented at the Expo in Turin beginning XX century, the rises finely crafted and artistically crafted baskets, chiselled, pharmacy equipment for laboratories of nearby "Ferrania" industry film world and for chemical industries of the time. Commonly used and industrial artifacts and beautiful artistic compositions, still fascinate the visitor of this glass museum that deserves respect, attention and admiration of those who love art, history and culture of Italian genius, in his the greatest expressions. The stained glass windows of the Templars coat of arms of 12 families who exhales gave rise to the art of enamel puff that still excites and enthralls. ... Don't miss a visit to the altar you will come out enriched in soul and heart, being able to see the magazine "Alte vitrie" on world history of glass published since the early 80 's of the last century, only in the world to have been the subject of great appreciation from the most important museums, such as the Corming Museum Glass in New York. Have you visited the Ecole de Nancy? You have admired, Daum, Gallé glasses etc? And then don't miss Altar and its Museum, perched just a few meters from the geographical divide-rider's altar or Colle della Bocchetta-between the Apennines and the Alps, not far from the sea that forested slopes of land accompanies you from the background of culture glass-making, the coast road that introduces you to the culture of the city of the Popes. Unequalled combination sea-mounts, which everyone should know and learn to love. From 1100, history and culture of glass taught by Benedictine monks who, returning from the crusades in the Holy Land, settled on the nearby island of Bergeggi. .. and the legend continues ...

  • A little gem that should be better known. The architectural container alone deserves a visit. The Museum collection is huge and a worthwhile documentation currently not present on processing and historical archives, with photos and other vintage material. It is a museum which is well worth growing.

  • The Museum is small but well worth a visit if only for the magnificent building that houses it. In the Museum you can find many items of fine craft. All of which now no longer ...

  • Very nice and interesting historical and modern pieces, but the best part is seeing the birth of objects by the expert hands of master glassmakers
