Frecce delle Grotte di Antonio Piccinnu, Alghero
(3.5/5 based on 2,800+ reviews on the web)
Explore ancient cave dwellings on the Island of Sardinia at Frecce delle Grotte di Antonio Piccinnu. Discovered by fishermen in the 18th century, the cave is just above sea level and accessible only when the water is calm via a steep staircase cut into sheer cliff wall. Take a guided tour through the narrow, 4 km (2.5 mi) long cave system to admire the stalagmite and stalactite formations. You can take a boat to the cave from the port of Alghero to view the island's coastline from the water. • This cave is worth a visit! Despite the 600 and a few steps down... and up!, it's very pretty. You go down in the middle of the cliffs and the sea below. Rendezvous, at the entrance of the cave, the sea rushes into the cavity Rocky and made impressive noise... The cave itself is very pretty. So, if you are in shape and curious, feel free... visit this cave!

  • To be honest: it's a little expensive, the visit is fast and guides don't make any special efforts to be nice. That being said, the site is great. The stairs and the path built on the side of cliffs are amazing. the cave is spectacular too but eventually months than the path. Plan to drink and species. Beware the cave is closed when the sea is strong.
