  • Ghilini Palace has a rich history, from Napoleon to the Savoy, but today it is the seat of the Prefecture, and then it's just a big set of offices. A potential untapped and historical monument that Alexandrians do not know, because no one bothers to tell the story.

  • Palazzo Ghilini is at the heart of the city, is home to the Prefecture and the province. The second part we much frequented for work without forgetting to admire the furniture like a beautiful Renaissance altarpiece, the frescoes of the halls, the grand staircase where stands a bust of the ' father of the Fatherland ', then in the Office preisdenziale the Inkwell of Giuseppe Saracco, Bistagno, Chairman of the Board (1900-1901) and a Cannonball from from Marengo. If the province closes what will happen half Palace? A building with a proud history we remember only that it was ' real ' and the Palace was among the famous guests On 14 May 1859 Emperor Napoleon (a few days before the General Canrobert had taken lodging with the General staff). Questions were in those days Imperial visits to Palazzo Ghilini, overlooking the balcony to greet the crowd along with Victor Emmanuel II (coming from San Salvatore, villa Pona). A quote: "a great crowd had gathered Naga Babu – writes in the square outside (the Palace) and kept applauding, so the Emperor Victor Emmanuel decided to show up on the big balcony. The Emperor came to first taking on the right side, towards the road of Santa Marta (now via Cavour), where the crowds were thicker. King Victor instead stood in the center of the balcony, as if to not want to subtract applause to guest ". We look out from the balcony one day the last President of the province, the real one, Paul Filippi from Casale-Conzano. History always is.

  • A beautiful building on the main square of the city, though not accessible. Yet another urban space closed and potential attraction badly exploited.
