  • We walked to visit the Church of the Madeleine and we found it much improved over the last years, they're all restoring

  • but getting into one of the most beautiful churches in Alba, among the masterpieces of Vittone. Don't limit your visit to single church but also access to the large choir from the ceiling decorated, located behind the high altar, often used for exhibitions or other cultural events

  • Along via Vittorio Emanuele II, dynamic heart of the city of Alba, worth a stop for artistic contemplation and for religious meditation the church dedicated to St Mary Magdalene, designed in the 18th century by architect piemontese Antonio Bernardo Vittone and placed scenically-existing village structure instead of 15th-century Dominican convent wanted by the blessed Margaret of Savoy. The sober unfinished brick façade, typical of Borromini, models borrowed from undulations helps raise the astonishment which the devotee and the tourist immediately try entering, because it arouses genuine surprise the baroque interior, elegant, rich and polychrome, partly "jewel" and partly "lounge". The plant, elegantly painted, geometrically elliptical the impressive verticality and the majestic wooden choir of the classroom at the back of the altar are the most significant elements of this interesting expression of Piedmontese Baroque.
