  • It would be a decent Cathedral, the facade shows traces of restoration: the statues embedded are poorly maintained, seem even concrete slabs, generally the square is too small to accommodate this church in its proper perspective. Worth walk outside and see the Bell Tower, which was spared from many operations. The Interior of the Cathedral has a beautiful celestial ceiling painted with stars, which would make the joy of the Russian avant-garde of the early 20th century. In the nave there is a modern baptismal font in grey marble and spherical shapes that define tacky is short, as well as steel grating covering ancient ruins at the entrance; I would have preferred a sheet of glass or an open area that is inaccessible. Even the "sail" suspended lighting flaw of too much modernity. Behind the altar is a wooden choir, finely inlaid. The area of the altar, with the oval base and plywood altar in marble of various colours, clashes with the colours and decorations of the Church; the place destined to the Bishop, with the same style, jarring even to the size of the backrest. Deserves a dismantling of parts and rebuilding what was there originally.

  • We revisited the duomo in Alba and were again impressed by its beauty. Majestic and elegant dominates the square surrounded by towers, inside many works of art of great value as the stained glass Windows and the choir.
