  • A little Museum full of priceless treasures, among all the head of Hades and the Venus of Morgantina. Given that until recently these masterpieces were exhibited at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and returned to Sicily as illegally detained.

  • Of course, there is no comparison with the great museums, but this gem deserves the highest praise for a number of reasons: a) the exhibits are amazing, the statue of a Kore (Venus or Aphrodite but Kore!) after making a fine show at the Paul Getty Museum in Malibu is rightly returned to the place where she was an object of worship; even the Acroliths and silverware have returned home, along with many small works of art that years of patient excavations have returned the admiration of the people. b) the Museum is the right complement of Morgantina archaeological area that, if it received more attention (and funding for the excavations), could reveal other extraordinary treasures. c) the placement is suggestive (a former Capuchin monastery well restored) and promises to improve and grow with the acquisition of new environments and exposure of other treasures still closed in stock. d) the visit is generally accompanied by polite and prepared guides that provide interesting information about the exhibits and the historical context in which arose and prospered Morgantina. and) the Museum and Morgantina is factored into a territory that encompasses other masterpieces within a few kilometres (from the villa del Casale at Piazza Armerina, Enna Museum with its churches, the castle of Lombardy, the Tower of Frederick II ^ etc.) which offer the visitor a show that is worth the time of travel and stay. It was such a thrill!

  • Despite being a large extension, not museum pieces here kept have strong emotions for their beauty, authenticity and uniqueness. The acroliths, with the reconstruction of Morgantina, Marella Ferrera signed with her drapery to Phidias, and head to Hades, just got home, in all its glory, are worth absolutely the trouble of getting up to Aidone. Certainly you cannot pass over in silence the same center of the Museum, the Capuchin, is a unique place and beauty.

  • A lot of interesting things.. the cronology is not really evident. No guide is available. pity
  • The Museum is nice and offers a fascinating collection. The visitor is greeted by very friendly staff and the visit begins from the discovering a beautiful terracotta vase, culminating in the famous goddess of Morgantina.
